Caro LaFever, Program Director, recently won the 2011 Colorado Romance Writer’s Heart of the Rockies contest. Her fiction has also finaled in several prestigious contests this year, including the Orange Rose and the Golden Pen. She is a winner of the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart. Her non-fiction book, The Complete Writer’s Guide for Heroes and Heroines has become a standard text for college writing classes. Caro studied political science in college and backpacked through Europe and the Orient. She’s been a ski bum, a waitress, a bookkeeper, a loan processor and an accounting software trainer. She’s conducted writing workshops across the country, including the RWA National Conference and Southwest Writer’s Conference. She is currently finishing a fifth book targeted for Harlequin.
